One Hope Fellowship

Reaching immigrants from all over the world

Fraser Valley
About One Hope Fellowship

Our desire is to build a multi-generational, multiethnic community. We are committed to reaching immigrants from all over the world in the greater Vancouver area. Our heart is to establish missional multiplying communities who learn, love and live in unity.

My ambition has always been to preach the good news where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else (Romans 15:20).

Nelson and Elena were born and raised in El Salvador and immigrated to Canada in 1989 as war refugees. They came to faith in Christ in Vancouver, British Columbia, where they faithfully served in a Spanish-speaking congregation for 15 years.

Both completed theological studies through the Central American Seminary in Guatemala, an extension of Dallas Theological Seminary. They were later called to church planting ministry in the Portland metropolitan area of Oregon, USA.

For 18 years, they served among Hispanic immigrant communities from across Latin America, planting four churches in different cities. Today, Nelson and Elena have returned to Metro Vancouver to continue their church planting ministry, working with immigrants and refugees from diverse nations and ethnic backgrounds around the world.

Nelson and Elena are blessed with three adult children and three granddaughters.
